Ryan Strating

Founding Director & Architect

Ryan is devoted to making architecture that has a low-environmental impact and provides a healthy and beautiful environment for its occupants.

To every project he brings a wealth of knowledge of thermally efficient construction and sustainable building materials, demonstrating the value added through investing in high-quality and high-performance architecture.

Ryan is the founder and technical developer of Clinka, a sustainable building materials company bringing European technologies to Australia. Ryan’s vast knowledge of renewable energy systems, construction materials, thermal performance, and energy life-cycle design ensures our projects are both sustainable and a joy to engage with.

Dr. Ceridwen Owen

Founding Director & Architect

Ceridwen is an Associate Professor in Architecture & Design at the University of Tasmania.

Her practice, teaching and research centres on design for sustainability, health and social inclusion, with a focus on cognitive and sensory diversity in the design of the built environment. 

She is particularly interested use of creative and visual-based methods to gain in-depth insights into experiences of place and to extend opportunities for inclusion, collaboration and engagement in research and design projects and in her teaching practice.

Ceridwen has substantial residential architectural experience, and has worked as a sustainability consultant on large commercial developments and public projects.

Emily Taylor

Associate

Emily has over fifteen years' experience designing residential, civic and healthcare buildings in Tasmania and New South Wales. Her notable works include Eternal Women's Health (2019), The Rox Apartments (2021), Isabel & Elsie Homes for the Hobart Women’s Shelter (2024) and the King Island Community Hub (due for completion 2025). Emily was a recipient of the Dulux Study Tour national award in 2012 and in 2021 was awarded the AIA's Tasmanian Emerging Architect Prize. 

Emily is passionate about quality, affordable housing. She attended the 2024 BCCM Co-Operative Housing Study Tour of Copenhagen, Vienna and Zurich, where she visited exemplary cooperative housing developments with a goal to apply her learnings back home in Tasmania.
