Venus Bay House
The project has evolved as a creative collaboration between us and the clients. The clients plant trees to encourage biodiversity on site and collect found materials for construction. The site is 18 acres of tea tree and banksias on a sand spit between Andersons Inlet and Bass Strait.
This small house is tucked into tea tree on a north facing ridge and has a generous outside living area. It uses 'extreme fire risk category' construction techniques, integrating a cladding collage of recycled corrugated sheet steel that ties the building thematically with the region and the textures of the site.
